American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) Conference on Lower Anogenital Tract Cancer
September 15th, 2022
Executive Director, Lillian Kreppel, attended the ACOG conference and met with epidemiologists, gynecologists, physician assistants, and nurses to raise awareness about HPV and its associated cancers. She also made plans for the HPV Cancers Alliance to hold events with ACOG in the future to raise awareness in this important medical community.
IANS Scientific Meeting

We joined our partners at the Anal Cancer Foundation for the International Anal Neoplasia Society (IANS) Scientific Meeting In New York.
Researchers and scientists from across the globe gathered to share their knowledge about preventing and treating anal cancer.
This year’s meeting was particularly significant because of the crucial ANCHOR study showing that screening and treating precancerous conditions can reduce incidence of anal cancer by 57%. The ANCHOR study was led by our Medical Advisory board member Joel Palefsky. Our detailed explanation of the the ANCHOR study can be found here.

HPV Cancers Cervivor and St Jude’s Path to a Bright Future HPV Vaccination Campaign
Memphis, Tennessee
St. Jude kicked off their HPV vaccination campaign, “Path to a Bright Future” with a webinar featuring survivor stories. Executive Director – Lillian Kreppel – and Leadership Advisory Team member Jason Mendelsohn shared their stories of diagnosis, treatment, survival, and advocacy. The campaign aims to dramatically improve on-time HPV vaccination rates for children before their 13th birthday to reduce the threat of HPV cancers later in life.

Women Talk: Girlfriends’ Day
HPV Cancers Alliance Co-Founders actress Marcia Cross and Lillian Kreppel along with Healthy Women had a candid conversation about their anal cancer diagnoses and how it brought them together to advocate for others. They talked about their friendship and how they’ve shown up for each other in difficult times, what other girlfriends have done to support them in their health journeys, and why female friendships are so healing.
How to Talk about HPV with Your Loved Ones
We teamed up with the Head and Neck Cancer Alliance to host an event that provided attendees with knowledge and confidence to speak with their loved ones about HPV and HPV cancer diagnoses.
International HPV Awareness Day
One Less Worry Social Media Campaign
We kicked off the 5th International HPV Awareness Day by supporting the International Papillomavirus Society’s (IPVS) “One Less Worry” social media campaign. The international campaign encourages people to get vaccinated against HPV. We also participated in their live-panel event “Delivering A World with One Less Worry – Implementing HPV Vaccination for All” and published stories about HPV cancers on all major social media platforms.
